Over the Hill: Welcome to Algeria
Checked 17 October 2026. Updated 2026-10-17.
I use the 9 April 2026 trailer as the day Algeria became a region I could name, not a rumour. The studio called it the second region and paired the video with the one-million wishlist mark. PC Gamer covered the wishlist number the same day. I am not treating a press headline as a second source for the map.

What the trailer established
Algeria is the second region, after the Canadian side that the demo later opened. The August release post then said both regions ship, with several areas in each. The map page that carries the names we can defend is Algeria.
The same window introduced meteorite collection to playtesters as a core mechanic. Pebbles, the currency those rocks pay, were named more clearly in the June demo notes. The size chart is still community data, on meteorites.
The wishlist number
Funselektor marked 1,000,000 Steam wishlists on 9 April 2026. The earlier public mark was 600,000 on 28 October 2025, from the console announcement. Wishlists are demand, not a review score.
Nothing in this post set the price or the October date. Those arrived in August. The launch post is 14 October.
Questions
When was the Algeria trailer released?
9 April 2026, during the Triple-i Initiative window, titled Welcome to Algeria.

Funselektor said so on 9 April 2026. That count is wishlists, not owners or reviews.
