Is Over the Hill crossplay?
Checked 17 October 2026. Updated 2026-10-17.
Yes is the developer’s answer to “Will there be cross-play?” in the official general FAQ checked on 17 October 2026. That is a feature commitment. It does not establish which console-to-PC combinations have shipped or been tested, because the console ports are still planned for 2027.

What works today
The released PC game supports online co-op for up to four players through Steam. Windows and Linux support are listed on the same app. Cross-platform console sessions are a separate question from the available PC co-op.
Steam Family Sharing is listed on the app. That lets another account in a family library open the game. It is not crossplay, and it is not a second concurrent owner.
Consoles in 2027
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 are planned for 2027. Until those versions exist, there is no console player to connect to a PC session.
The general FAQ’s yes is a cross-play commitment, but that older FAQ also contains Linux planning language superseded by the newer technical FAQ. Do not convert its short answer into a verified launch-day matrix: specific platform pairings, account requirements and PC-to-console tests are not documented here.
Questions
Can Xbox and PC play Over the Hill together?
The official FAQ says yes to cross-play as a planned feature. The Xbox port is due in 2027, so this page does not claim a live or tested Xbox-to-PC session today.
Can a Steam Deck join a Windows friend?
Both use the Steam PC release, which supports online co-op. That is separate from the future console cross-play matrix; this site has not run an independent pairing test.
