Over the Hill demo announcement

I keep this post because people still search for a demo that is gone. The 12 June 2026 announcement is when it existed. Later studio notes said it would not return. I am not linking a download that the developer closed.
What the demo contained
The announcement put the demo in The Valhallas, with three unlockable vehicles. It described snapping polaroids of animals for a compendium, and gathering Pebbles to unlock upgrades. Tools named around the same window include winch anchors, repair kits, a camp, and a meteorite radar.
A photo contest followed on 13 June, asking for four screenshots, and closed with Next Fest. Winners were announced on 30 June. That contest is why photo mode has its own page now.
What happened after
June also brought performance complaints and hotfixes, including server regions and a single-player fix posted in Chinese. An August progress note said the demo would not come back. The current answer for “where is the demo” is the demo page, which points at buying the full game.
Save behaviour between the demo and the full game is not something I will state beyond what that page already sourced. If you are here from a broken demo install, read demo not working.

Is the Over the Hill demo still up?
No. It opened for Steam Next Fest on 12 June 2026 and the studio later said it would not return.
How many vehicles were in the demo?
The announcement said three unlockable vehicles, in The Valhallas.
